FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WPF reinforces its commitment to global unity, international competition and the continued growth of pickleball.
22 July 2026 — The World Pickleball Federation (WPF), the international governing body for pickleball, is pleased to announce its official recognition and support of the 2026 Pickleball World Cup, to be held in Da Nang, Vietnam, from 30 August to 6 September 2026.
The recognition reflects WPF’s ongoing commitment to fostering international collaboration, creating meaningful competitive opportunities for athletes and supporting initiatives that strengthen the global pickleball community. The agreement was signed by Mrs. Kim Janice Wagner, President of the World Pickleball Federation, and Mr. Hercilio Cabieses, Managing Director of the Pickleball World Cup.
The 2026 Pickleball World Cup represents an important opportunity to bring athletes, officials and national associations together in the spirit of friendship, competition and cooperation while continuing to expand pickleball’s reach throughout Asia and emerging regions.
The partnership seeks to:
- Encourage greater international participation;
- Promote collaboration between national federations and continental organisations;
- Support athlete development and international competition;
- Strengthen pickleball’s presence throughout Asia and emerging nations; and
- Showcase the sport’s continued global growth.
While the Pickleball World Cup remains independently organised and managed by its Organising Committee, WPF’s recognition reflects its confidence in the event’s contribution to the international development of the sport.
WPF’s role encompasses recognition, promotion, participation support, ranking consideration, and international cooperation. The 2026 Pickleball World Cup is an independently organized international event delivered by the Pickleball World Cup Organising Committee, which retains responsibility for the operation and management of the competition.
“The World Pickleball Federation believes that the future of our sport lies in collaboration, inclusion and creating meaningful opportunities for athletes and nations to come together. The 2026 Pickleball World Cup embodies those values by providing an international stage that celebrates excellence, friendship and the continued growth of pickleball. We are proud to recognise and support this event and commend the organisers for their vision and commitment to expanding our sport throughout Asia and beyond.”
— Mrs. Kim Janice Wagner, President, World Pickleball Federation
The 2026 Pickleball World Cup is expected to welcome national teams and athletes from around the world, further establishing Vietnam as one of Asia’s leading destinations for international pickleball competition.
